Summary
Users will report that the @ key is not working, or users will report that none of the keys on the second row from the top are working. This may indicate that the "inputs and keyboard" settings are switched to another language or layout. The following sections shows how to quickly determine if that's the issue, and solutions for it.
Common Issues
To find out, hold the SHIFT + "=" at the same time. If the following character is anything but a + sign then the layout has change. The section below shows two methods to resolve the issue.
Changing to US Keyboard Layout
Using the CTRL + SPACEBAR Command to Switch to US Keyboard Layout
1. Click on an empty field, such as the address bar of the Chrome browser, to start typing.
2. While using the keyboard, press CTRL + SPACEBAR at the same time to switch back to "US".
Note: You may need to enter the command multiple times to cycle back to "US".
Using the Settings to Switch to US Keyboard Layout
1. At the bottom right of the your screen, click on the time, then click on Settings as represented by the cogwheel ⚙️.
Note: It may look different from the picture above, but the process is still the same.
2. On the left panel select Device.
3. On the right panel under "Device" select Keyboard.
4. Scroll down and select Change input settings.
5. Under "Input methods", select English (US).
